How much time do you have on the server?

1513 hours at the time of writing this

Do you have any warns?[use !warns if you dont know]:

No warns (yippee)

On a scale from 1 - 10, how would you rate your creativity?

Somewhere around a 7. I might not come up with anything groundbreaking, but I will do my research to come up with some fun and lore accurate quests.

Why do you want to become a Quest Master?

I am interested in gaining experience with the MQS quest making system and playing with some of the mechanics I have heard the other quest makers talk about. I also want to add some variety in the kind of quests we have if possible, although the current map has a lot of cool quests going on already. Speaking of the current map, I know we will be transitioning to a new map soon, and want to help repopulate the server with a good number of new and revived quests when the time comes. I am also prestige level 9 and combat level ~200, so I have done my fair share of quests on the map.

Do you have any experience with MQS Quest Making System?

I do not… yet. I am hoping to gain experience on the current map prior to the transition so I can hit the ground running. I'll adjust my suggestions below to the limitations and the strengths of the system should they actually be implemented.

Provide an example of a Quest you would make?

There are a few quests I am thinking about making, but I will have to learn about the strengths and the limitations of the system before I do this. Here are a few ideas I have that are mostly speculation until I understand the system better:

  1. a tight space breach and clear quest that would be relatively challenging. I’ll have to mess with the hp, movement, and weapons of the hostile npcs to get this to work as intended. I'll also need to make sure that this works on repeated runs as I know the quests can be a bit buggy. I can flavor this later, but it could easily be some sort of spec ops mission against a CIS stronghold or something that takes place in an urban setting against criminals. This one doesn't require any crazy mechanics unlike the other suggestions.

  2. I am interested in a defense quest, where the objective would be to survive for ~3 to ~5 minutes. This might rely on some sort of wave system that may or may not exist, or I could get creative with enemy placement and cover to allow for this to happen on a one time hostile npc spawn. There are quite a few options for how to flavor this and I could drop this just about anywhere. I am thinking about a gate defense against CIS or maybe a lower city rakghul/zombie infestation.

  3. I have seen that you can recruit friendly npcs to follow you in some circumstances and I am wondering if I can do something fun with that mechanic inside of a quest. Whether that be an escort mission or a scuffed garry's mod attempt at first person XCOM, it doesn’t really matter to me as long as it is enjoyable. Once again, there are a lot of ways I can flavor this depending on where it goes. The VIP can be a senator you have to drag through a mini dungeon and your “squad” could just be a few shinies that are clearing out a battlefield with you. This would require several friendly npc related mechanics to be present in the quest system and I may need to make sure that the recruitment of our clone trooper npcs even works to begin with.

  4. One last idea. Some pyke have suggested a spice deal quest that is interactable by both the republic and pyke. I'm not sure how this might work or if it is already in development. If I were to guess, this could be two opposing but equal quests that spawn in enemies on different ai teams and meet at the same location. That way, if you happen to trigger it at about the same time as the opposite faction, you guys could contest for the victory. This might pit players into pvp, so it would have to be handled with care (approval from higher ups) and the reward would probably have to be worth it, but also not good enough to constantly spam on low player counts above other quests. Additionally, if there is some sort of sub objective mechanic that could increase rewards, maybe the pvp could trigger that and make it more worth your time. Although this mechanic is not necessary.
