Why do you wish to apply for the Gamemaster position?
I wish to apply for the Gamemaster position so that I may help bring even more activity to the server during both the day /and/ night, so that people from differing timezones may get more activity and action on the server.
What sets you apart from the other applicants?
Something that I may have, which other applicants may not, is an imagination that combines the fiction of Star Wars with real world scenarios, which allows me to formulate more tactical operations and events.
On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your creativity?
On a scale of 1-10, I would rate my creativity a 9.5. My reason being, I have always been drawn to activities and games that require you to have a creative imagination. For example, I play a lot of strategic combat games /and/ I also play D&D, a game filled with creativity, both as a Dungeon Master and as a player.
On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your knowledge of the lore?
On a scale of 1-10, I would rate my knowledge of the Star Wars lore at about 9 or 9.5. While I have extensive knowledge about the universe spanning over the Old Republic, Clone Wars, & Galactic Civil War, there are some aspects of the lore that I do not yet understand, such as the eras /before/ the Old Republic. Although, a majority of that timeline is considered "Legends".
Provide an example of an event you can create.
An example of an event that I could create is best described as the following:
A challenging defense operation that greatly resembles D-Day. Republic personnel would be tasked with, first, securing and, then, defending a beach against waves of CIS opponents. Or, if that would be too similar to the Battle of Kashyyyk, I could instead create an operation that focuses on engaging CIS targets while simultaneously defending a certain point, person, or group. This way, individual battalions may get different experiences depending on their priorities, while having it stay in the same event. For example, one group of clones (comprised of primarily defensive battalions) may be tasked with securing a civilian holdout, while a secondary group (comprised of primarily offensive battalions such as the 212th, 501st, etc) have to engage separate CIS forces to prevent the first group from being swarmed.
Do you understand that abuse of power will result in your removal and blacklist?
Yes, I completely understand. I do not wish to ruin the experiences of both players and other GMs. If, at any point, I somehow forgot this perspective, I hope that I will be appropriately punished.
What is your prior experience with gamemastering or similar roles?
Unfortunately, I have never been able to experience being a gamemaster. However, as I stated earlier, I /do/ have experience as a D&D dungeon master. While not necessarily the same, I understand that both roles engage in making sure that the players are having fun.
How do you handle conflict and difficult situations?
An example of a difficult situation or conflict that I have helped resolve is a miscommunication that once occurred between my friends. One of my friends had supposedly insulted the other by saying that some of their literary work was horrible. Rather than directly ask the supposed insulter directly, I instead went to any third parties that had been involved in the situation. After asking my other 3 friends about what they had heard and their perspectives on the matter, I /then/ asked the perspectives of the supposed insulter and insult-ee. After investigating, I found out that my friend hadn't intended on insulting my other friend's literary work, but was attempting to critique their work so that they may later become successful, which eventually became the case. In the end, I managed to settle the hostilities between the two and we managed to go back to our regular activities.
What are your preferred event genres or themes?
Difficult and/or engaging events. More specifically, defensive events. Although I especially like events that have individual tasks for each battalion, or at least different priorities. I also just really like a good challenge.
Is there anything else you wish to add?
There is nothing else I wish to add, except that I appreciate the efforts of all GMs on the server.
