# MfQpY7Nt1vmUh4MWWhat is your in-game name and rank?:
Jean, Lieutenant (Major Equivilant)
What rank are you applying for?
Captain (VCMDR Equiviland)
What regiment are you applying for?:
Naval
Why do you wish to become a Command member?:
I wish to be command so that I am in a position to bring activity and document reform to Navy. As can be seen from my work to standardize the tryout for Ground Armor, I take a lot of care and hope to be able to work and increase the quality of the Naval SOP to fit the current way they are handled in practice. An issue I have been having recently is a lot of the way Naval and pilot policies are implemented is sheerly through word-of-mouth practices handed down through leadership. I hope that by being a member of command, I can make it easier and more accessible/less frustrating for naval members in any of the sub-battalions/certifications to understand their role as well as their responsibilities. Beyond this, I hope to empower members of Naval to be their best selves and find/introduce new ways to engage in RP that is engaging for both the members of Naval as well as the community at large. Naval, as a battalion, has so much potential, and I hope that through working with High Command and any other Naval leaders we can make naval a centerpiece of community-wide engagement and RP. While I have worked on and helped make some of these additions to the Naval Documents, the Ground Armour Certification guide for instance, I feel I can better implement further Ideas and changes with my battalion while in a command position.
How much time do you have on the server?:
283h
What are the duties of a Command member?:
Leading is not just doing all the work yourself, and thus being Command isn’t, but it is being there to support and empower members of Naval to put in the work and help bring about the changes and opportunities they want within their battalion. While I can go into the importance of hosting sims/patrols/other engagements, the true duty of a Command member is not only to lead by doing, but also to equip those in lower leadership positions with the skills they need to be successful in providing trainings and doing their own engagements. Strong command serves as a foundation for the rest of the battalion to build off of and as a role model for how you want the people within to act. While I will actively work to promote RP activities, host engagements, and more for my battalion, I know from my work managing people that true growth for a team, which a battalion is, comes through each member having a say and being able to put forth the idea. I feel that as a command member, it would be my duty to ensure this forum is open.
Why should we trust you with this position?:
I believe that I have shown not just in my work as a Naval Officer, but also my previous low-command in Medical/current research head position that I am trustworthy and do well in equipping those I have the honor of leading with what they need to succeed. Beyond this, I am experienced in policy design based on overarching guidelines (such as Naval handbook utilizing group SOP) and can work to build a strong underpinning for Naval in the form of an updated handbook. Additionally, I work hard to ensure all those both within my battalion as well as out are enabled and engaged to participate in RP and work hard to find RP alternatives to actions such as jail time, as I would rather have people be active in the server, with some RP, then AFK in a cell. While I would be the first to say that I am not always serious, I am when I need to be. As I have shown, I never treat those in lower positions then my own differently than, for example, someone with a higher position. This is because, as a person who works in diplomacy, I know the value of true relationship building and the importance of not pushing a person into a specific box due to their title, but engaging with them and giving them the footing they need to be empowered.
How often can you be online?:
I can usually be on for a 3-4 hours a day, more so on weekends, the only times this is not the case is during significant work weeks as well as when I am traveling for work. My IRL job does require I take certain weeks/segments of a week as ROA weeks due to need of me to work 12+ hour days.
Do you have any warns?:
No
