Why do you want to become 2LT?: It has been a while since I've been on GMod, and I honestly didn't think I would get this enthralled with the server. The 41st has really made me stay far longer than I first intended because of what we do, our kit, and most importantly, the people. Everyone I've interacted with has been outstanding in the 41st, and I want to become an officer in our corps so that I can have the means to assist and lead them more in the future; I truly want to be a large part in helping our corps succeed.
What makes you qualified to become a 2LT over other candidates?: I believe I am qualified to become an officer due to my outgoing nature and my humility above all else. An extroverted approach is pertinent for an officer for a couple reasons: to interact more often with your troops and peers, to get together with other battalions for joint trainings or even just strengthening communication, and to maintain transparency with your guys. People are always first, and part of being an officer means getting to know them and to always be available for questions, comments, and/or concerns. Tying into that last point, my humility is what I firmly believe is my greatest strength, always able to take criticism, admit that I'm wrong, and to do what's right, even if no one is looking. Just because you're an officer doesn't mean you don't make mistakes, we're human(clones), but it's important to admit to those mistakes, push forward, and to take the input that those under you give. You won't always be right or may not have the best solution to a problem, which is why you need to listen and take into account what the people around you offer, otherwise you just become a jackass barking orders without any consideration for the people you're leading.
What is the job of a 2LT in the battalion?: Most of the duties of an officer include managing and assisting your NCOs and junior enlisted, hosting training or some other activity of the sort, whether it's just your guys or setting up a joint training, and being the voice that links your enlisted to command. Managing your NCOs means providing oversight, correction, advice, and assistance, guiding them in the right direction while trying to give them the autonomy they need to perform their duties. I believe a more hands-off approach is better to let them learn and think for themselves, only stepping in when something wrong or against our handbook is happening. Hosting trainings, SIMs, and even passive RP for the corps is an amazing way to get people on and to give them something to do on the server between events. It can be even better with hosting joint trainings, being able to better communicate and coordinate with other battalions and their tactics, and just increasing the enjoyment and activity for everyone all around. Last but not least, being the link that brings your enlisted and command team together is a key role for officers. Higher ups won't see everything NCOs and junior enlisted do(even with loggings) and it's up to officers to be that voice and vouch for them, whether that's if they're doing amazing work and deserve a recommendation, or getting punished for something they did, you always need to be there for your people and vouch for them as much as possible.
Why should you be trusted with 2LT?: If granted the rank of 2LT and welcomed as an officer in the 41st, I can promise that I will do everything that I can to make sure our corps and our people succeed; I will be as active as I can be to show face on the server and to make myself more available to the rest of the 41st. To the current NCOs and junior enlisted, along with anyone else who wishes to join the 41st reading this, I will always be there for y'all, and if something comes up and shit happens, and I will do my damnedest to vouch for y'all and take on as much of the brunt as I can. We're all here to have fun and enjoy ourselves, and it is my mission to make aid in that for all of us.
