Questions:

What is your in-game name and rank?: Shock HCC MAJ Bill 1991

What rank are you applying for?: VCMDR Stone

What regiment are you applying for?: Shock

Why do you wish to become a Command member?:

Shock is the battalion I've put nearly all of my time on the server into, and at this point I'd rather build it than just serve in it. Most of what I do already leans that direction: running patrols with newer troopers, walking people through arrest procedures when they're unsure, and picking up the slack during off-peak hours when there isn't much of a presence online.

Beyond that, I think Shock has a retention problem that's fixable. A lot of new enlistees pass training, get a whitelist, and then never really get pulled into anything, so they drift to another battalion or stop logging on. I want to be the person who catches those people in their first week and gets them into a subdivision or a role they actually care about and can have fun in. That's not a flashy goal, but it's the one I think matters most for keeping the battalion healthy long-term.

How much time do you have on the server?: 70hrs

What are the duties of a Command member?:

The way I see it, Command work breaks into a few buckets:

Battalion Day to Day: hosting sims, PT, and trainings so troopers have something to do when there isn't an event running, keeping the roster accurate and cleaning it up when people go inactive, processing promotions and handling documentation so nothing sits untouched for weeks.

Developing new players: running tryouts for subdivisions, identifying troopers who are ready for NCO and officer slots before they get bored and leave, and training new officers rather than handing them a rank and hoping they figure it out.

Supervision: issuing warnings, strikes, blacklists, and removals when they're warranted, and doing it consistently regardless of who the person is or how long you've known them. Command members are also the first stop for internal complaints, so being willing to investigate someone you like is part of the job.

Representing the battalion externally: coordinating joint sims and operations with other battalions, maintaining working relationships with their Command teams, and handling it professionally when a dispute involves one of our troopers instead of immediately defending our own side.

Acting as the link to HICOM: bringing forward battalion suggestions on gear, whitelists, or subdivision changes, and passing rule updates and server news back down so troopers actually hear about it.

Shock adds one layer on top of all of that: a big part of Shock Command specifically is making sure troopers understand the arrest procedure, know when not to detain someone, and can de-escalate instead of escalating.

Why should we trust you with this position?:

I've been consistent. I've stayed in Shock rather than jumping between battalions chasing a faster promotion, and I've shown up during the quiet hours as well as the busy ones. My record is clean and I've never had an issue with a Command member or another battalion that needed to be escalated.

I also handle criticism without turning it into a fight. If a Command or staff member tells me I handled an arrest wrong, I'd rather understand why and fix it than argue about it in chat and I'd expect the same standard applied to me if I'm the one giving the correction.

Lastly, I don't want this rank as a trophy. If I get it and I stop being useful, I'd rather step down than sit on a slot someone else could be using. Overall, I think I've already been doing a fair amount of this job informally, and I'd like the position to do it properly.

How often can you be online?: I am on every day if not every other.

Do you have any warns?: No
