Why do you wish to become a 2LT?
I have a few select reasons for my application to become an officer. First and foremost, my desire is, and always will be to improve the quality of the Rancor Battalion, and to improve the experience of both the members of the battalion, and those battalions that work with, and around Rancor. I believe I have proven this desire through my activity, and my ability to "smarten up" during important missions/scenarios. I believe that with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, I will be able to provide more support to both the commanding officers of Rancor, but also the enlisted members of the battalion, whether this be through suggestions relating to battalion structure, assisting the enlisted members with various trainings/simulations with both Rancor specifically, and other battalions when available, hosting more in-depth passive roleplay, or any others ways that I may think of throughout my career within the Rancor. I do believe that an officer would have a higher ability to easily plan collaboration with other battalions, whether that be through passive roleplay, training, or simulations.
What makes you qualified to become a 2LT over other candidates?
Currently, I would not claim I am the "perfect" candidate for the available position that is a 2nd Lieutenant of the Rancor Battalion. However, I can comfortably admit that I do have extensive experience in leadership positions. The first experience I will mention is my near decade of experience in both Star Wars RP in GMod and Arma 3, as well as my simultaneous experience with Milsim (Military Simulation) groups both on Arma 3, Battlefield 3-5, GMod, and in offline environments such as airsoft, and reenactment. Throughout that near decade, I will estimate that nearly four years of that experience would be in leadership positions, ranging from Junior-NCO, all the way up to Battalion/Unit Commander. Most of said leadership time was spent in the mid-officer ranks, ranging from 2nd Lieutenant to Major, due to my enjoyment of the administrative duties that come with said officer positions. I can comfortably say that those who have been under my command, even if for brief periods, would report that my strategic sense is sound, my ability to delegate is satisfactory, I can to provide ample administrative support, that I excel at providing appropriate discipline as well as deserved rewards, and that I am proficient in my ability to mediate through disagreements that occur with my subordinates. I am eager to prove such claims to the commanding officers of Rancor, and those who may watch my career within the battalion grow if I am granted this opportunity.
What is the job of a 2LT in the Battalion?
Simply put, the most basic duty of a 2nd Lieutenant, regardless of what battalion or other structure they are placed into, is to learn how to lead their men, to learn their area of expertise and master said area. Of course, mastery does not come overnight, and mastery of leadership, in my experience, may come with time and experience under the right mentor, or may not come at all. The rank of 2nd Lieutenant is more of a trial-learning phase than anything. Those who cannot perform their duty of learning and self-realization will be demoted once more, whilst those who excel, those who absorb their lessons and perform when under duress are those who will climb further to impress, and improve themselves and those who are both above and below them in rank and experience. A small, yet important responsibility that the junior officer ranks possess that I rarely find spoken about, that primarily the rank of 2nd Lieutenant excels with, is to bridge the gap of communication between the enlisted members, and those who possess higher ranks within the battalion, providing insight on the perspective of the enlisted to those higher in rank who may not have the opportunity to see it for themselves.
Why should you be trusted with 2LT?
While I do possess such a wide variety of leadership experience, and just as much experience as an enlisted member of whichever unit/battalion I am a member of at any given time, I do not wish to claim that I will be the perfect option for this promotion, nor will I ever. I can guarantee I will make mistakes, both big and small, and I wish to make that known before I am considered for this position. My only hope is patience, criticism and guidance from both those who may wish to see me fail and those who may wish to see me grow. I do believe that through my junior-leadership abilities I have been able to show off so far within Rancor that I have proven my desire for growth, knowledge, and improvement. If I am given the trust to attain this promotion, I will work my hardest to prove that I am worthy and deserving of this position, and attempt to earn even more trust afterward.
[NOTE]
A genuine thank you to those who put in the time to properly read and assess my application for the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, and I will be eagerly, yet patiently, awaiting any criticisms, and the final decision regarding this application.
